Home  > Gnarled trees growing in between and over the stones add to the ancient feel of the  place.

Home  > The space inside the circle is raised higher than the surrounding land, creating a low platform which could originally have had clear views in a all directions though now it feels quite secluded.
There are trees growing around the perimiter of the circle and a whitethorn originally grew in the centre. Superstitious locals would not allow the tree to be removed and it was only cleared away when it fell of its own accord.
