Ken Williams > Late evening in November 2005.

There is a low sill stone at the entrance which has broken at some point in history, it may originally have blocked the entrance right up to the capstone. Evidence from the manner of the burial deposits indicates the bones of all those found inside were brought here and deposited all at once, when the bodies had fully decomposed. Perhaps the bodies were placed elsewhere such as a cave for a long period of time (maybe several generations) before being brought here and its possible the tomb was then sealed.
Ken Williams > The low cairn upon which it sits may never have been much higher than its present state, though it is now enclosed by a rope barrier which detracts from its wild appearance somewhat. It is advisable to arrive here very early or very late to avoid bus tours.
