On high ground with wide views to the east, the large blocky pillar at Ardmore is monumental in size and a fine standing stone in it's own right. What makes it far more interesting though are the expertly carved cup and ring marks on it's east face, some with three or four rings and joined with gutters and radial lines. Near the top of the stone is an unusual kidney shape motif with one central and one off-set cupmark. Click on the thumbnail to see a larger picture of the carvings.
