Ken Williams > Glantane East (South) Stone Circle

This moss covered, overgrown circle sits in an enchanting tree-lined grove just south of the collection of better known monuments around Knocknakilla Hill.

Ken Williams > Down a country lane, off a narrow country road, this circle is just visible in a small, tree lined enclosure beside some abandoned farm sheds. The small moss covered stones and their long, low and sunken recumbent seem to be frozen in time.
Ken Williams > Knockraheen complex consists of this five stone circle of low but large stones situated on high ground with a view over the valleys to the west and south. The recumbent axial stone of this rather nice stone circle has a flattened top and both sides slope up to give a neat shape. The portal stones are longer than tall and the two side stones are smaller and stubby.
Ken Williams > To the west of the circle is a two-stone alignment and in the fields to the south are three overgrown cairns, one of which appears to have a kerb of upright, radial set stones.
Ken Williams > Glandine (aka Monkeys Bridge) Standing Stones, County Cork.

A large pair of standing stones on a steep hillside not far from the village of Bweeng, next to the deep valley side topped by 'Monkeys Bridge'.

Ken Williams > "An Seisear" Stone Row, Beenalaght County Cork.

A massive stone row of six stones (one now fallen) all over six feet high and some over three metres. A visit here in mid December seems to indicate a sightline towards the setting sun at this time of year.

Ken Williams > A glorious midwinter sunset, 15th December 2005 shows off the stature of this fine pair of standing stones.
Ken Williams > The tallest of these two impressive stones is a lofty eleven feet high, the smaller is short of six feet though the odd angle of this photos may give the impression that the stone is shorter than it actually is.
