This slideshow was taken on the 20th September 2005, the only morning around the equinox where the weather conditions allowed the alignment in Loughcrew Carin T to be seen.

Around 6.30 am a small group gather around the entrance to Cairn T on Carnbane East. The first to arrive are a film crew from RTE television and a small band of musicians who play traditional music as the sun rises from the mist.
06:37am The fog begins to clear just as the sun reaches the horizon. This is the view over Patricks Hill east in the distance, towards the horizon.
07:06am With Bodhrans and other instruments at the ready, people stand expectantly on top of Cairn T.
07:15am Still shrouded by fog, the horizon glows intensely above Cairn V.
07:17am The sun finally emerges from the fog.
07:20am Cairn V at daybreak.
07:21am At last powerful sunlight lights up the landscape and its time to go inside the cairn to view the beam of light hitting the back stone.
Taken on the Autumn Equinox in 2006, this view is of the passage looking out from the chamber towards the entrance. The beam of sunlight is shaped by the lintels and sill stones into an almost rectangular shape before it reaches the backstone.
07:31am The interior of the chamber glows with sunlight streaming down the passage, lighting up the rear stone of the chamber in spectacular fashion.
07:33am The peak of the illumination lights almost the entire back stone of the chamber.
