Whats in the kit bag?
Magellan eXplorist 210 GPS
A great little handheld GPS, its rugged, compact and accurate to 3 metres. There is plenty of memory to store locations of sites for easy reference though the maps for Ireland are non-existent except for major roads in Dublin city and the main roads from Wexford to Belfast. Anything further west than the M50 Dublin ringroad doesn't seem to exist.
On the positive side it can use Ordnace Survey co-ordinates as well as Lat-Long which makes using OS maps a breeze and hunting down obscure stone monuments is now far less challenging.
Hooking up to a laptop enables it to pinpoint your location on the far more detailed maps in Microsoft Autoroute and connecting it to the nikon D200 means I dont have to remind myself to take GPS readings at locations.
