High up on a wild hillside in south Carlow is a large boulder with some of the most accomplished rock art carvings, certainly in the Leinster area if not the enitre island.
The sloping faces of this earthfast boulder, over 8ft long, are adorned with spectacular ringed cup marks and a possible spiral. The outer rings of some of the markings are bisected with gutters and a pair of ringed motifs share a single gutter which joins them.
From this point there are wide views north and west.
