The Inisowen Peninsula in Donegal is renowned for it's prolific and unusual rock art, the townland of Magheranaul in particular features the highest concentration. Unfortunately much of the rock art is difficult to find nowadays, some having been destroyed and more having become overgrown more recently.

These two unusual panels are situated close to each other, the panel on the left features three or four wide and deep cup marks surrounded by rings and long 'tails', some in pairs and others forming parallel, bent grooves.

This smaller panel features another very wide and deep cup mark surrounded by a single ring and framed by quite unusual linear grooves.
