West Kennet Longbarrow is the finest example of a near-intact neolithic chambered tomb, magnificently located on a hilltop with panoramic views over one of the most important pre-historic landscapes in the world. Many other monuments are visible from the long barrow including the largest pre-historic man-made mound, Silbury Hill, East Kennet Long Barrow (slightly larger than West Kennet but unexcavated and inaccesible), The Ridgeway are all easy to spot and Avebury, the largest and most impressive stone circle complex in the world, is just a short walk.
