Leitrim Dolmen in Co. Tyrone is a relatively small portal tomb which now forms part of a field boundary like so many other megalithic monuments. Fortunately though it has not suffered quite as much as other monuments though the backstone of the chamber is almost hidden in piled stones which also fill the chamber.
This would be a very neat tripod dolmen type with a blocky rather than flat topped capstone unilke the more visited tripod dolmens of Ballykeel and Legananny. Its difficult to determine if any of the stones alongside the tomb ever formed part of the chamber. It would be nice to see this site cleared so its true form can be appreciated.
The same view as the first photograph, in colour.
This tomb is easily recommended to those passing nearby as it is easy to see from the road and access is straightforward.
