The circle is situated down a maze of local roads and then down a mile long lane close to a forestry plantation which conceals another, smaller five stone circle of similar stones.
Carrigagulla is a well regarded circle of many low stones, though it is now overgrown and close to being consumed by the adjoining hedge. The stones are well graded from the long, low recumbent stone to the 3ft portals and makes for a charming monument which should be better maintained.
