A wondrous circle, a rare example of a complete and impressive multiple stone circle in the highlands north of Rosscarberry bay.
Reanascreena is a wonderful circle in a very obscure location, two fields from the nearest local road and hidden from view until you are very near. Despite this it commands fine views and even the sea, several miles away, is partly visible.
The circle is surrounded by a low bank and ditch which is water logged and makes entering the circle very difficult without waterproof boots. As you can see in this photo, the stones are graded in height towards the portals on the right from the recumbent to the far left.
Despite its obscure location and overgrown state, the circle has been well cared for and is in very good condition. It surpasses the more heavily visited Drombeg for the atmosphere of place and the appearance of being almost untouched since it was in use in the Bronze Age, over three thousand years ago.
