Five out of six massive stones still stand at the end of a field near Bweeng, County Cork.
An Seisear, Co. Cork
'An Seisear' means 'The Six', though the very observant may notice there is only five stones still standing here!
The tallest stone is about three metres high, and the two tallest stones at are opposite ends of the row. The fallen stone lies where it fell in the middle of the row though its hard to say how high this stone once stood.
In this picture the fallen stone is replaced by the photographer, the stones lie at the top of a gently sloping long field and are visible from the road passing east from Coachford to Mallow in County cork.
There is a large plantation of pine trees growing in the next field and a small forest behing the row. At midwinter the sun casts a shadows along the row and far behind it as can be seen in this photo, though by the time the sun sets behind the hills it no longer makes a straight shadow.
Four of the standing stones with the fallen stone just visible jutting out at the bottom left of the picture.
Looking along the row in a north easterly direction.
Lined up towards the late evening sun, a deeply impressive sight at this time of year.
